What calculators are included?
Seven calculators: GFR (CKD-EPI & MDRD), BMI & Body Surface Area (DuBois), Creatinine Clearance (Cockcroft-Gault), CHA₂DS₂-VASc (stroke risk), Framingham 10-year cardiovascular risk, Child-Pugh liver function score, and Wells DVT/PE clinical decision rule.
How do I switch between calculators?
Use the tab buttons at the top. The input fields and results update automatically for each selected calculator.
What is GFR and which formula does this tool use?
Glomerular Filtration Rate (GFR) estimates kidney function. This tool supports both the CKD-EPI (2021) and MDRD equations, using serum creatinine, age, and sex. GFR below 60 mL/min/1.73m² for 3+ months indicates chronic kidney disease.
What is the CHA₂DS₂-VASc score?
It estimates annual stroke risk in patients with non-valvular atrial fibrillation. Score 0 = low risk, score ≥2 typically warrants anticoagulation therapy.
What is Creatinine Clearance?
CrCl estimates kidney function using the Cockcroft-Gault equation. It considers age, weight, serum creatinine, and gender. Below 60 mL/min indicates kidney impairment.
What is the Framingham Risk Score?
The Framingham Risk Score estimates the 10-year risk of cardiovascular events (heart attack, stroke). It factors in age, sex, total cholesterol, HDL cholesterol, systolic blood pressure, blood pressure treatment, smoking status, and diabetes history.
What is the Child-Pugh Score?
The Child-Pugh Score classifies liver disease severity (compensated vs decompensated cirrhosis). It assesses five parameters: total bilirubin, serum albumin, INR (prothrombin time), ascites severity, and hepatic encephalopathy grade. Class A (5-6) is well-compensated, Class C (10-15) is decompensated.
What is the Wells Criteria for DVT/PE?
The Wells Score is a clinical prediction rule for estimating the probability of deep vein thrombosis (DVT) or pulmonary embolism (PE). It assigns points for clinical findings like active cancer, immobilization, previous DVT/PE, heart rate, and alternative diagnoses.
Are these results clinically valid?
These calculators use standard clinical formulas for educational reference. Always verify with full clinical assessment and consult a healthcare professional for treatment decisions.
